This documentary explores the evidence for the claim that the magical land was inspired by CS Lewis’ Northern Ireland. Following the dedication of a memorial in Poets’ Corner, Westminster Abbey, Lewis’ native Belfast has also honoured him with a new civic square and annual festival. Tracing the childhood influences on the Oxford academic, this programme examines letters, manuscripts and photographs and visits the places he returned ‘home’ to throughout his life. It is already the 120th anniversary of C S Lewis’ birth in November next year.
