Several years ago, when Jørn was living in Lofoten, Northern Norway, he noticed how the cold temperature had made one of the many sand beaches in Lofoten hard as concrete. The mixture of sand, water and cold weather had changed the entire surface of the beach. Since Jørn is a skater, he brought his skateboard and skated along the beach between majestic mountains and deep blue sea. This was the beginning of his new idea and his big project: to make a skateboard park out of sand and water and make the most original skateboard film ever! The documentary On Thin Ice is about the whole process, trying to understand what happens in his creative mind, and the challenges of doing something that seems quite meaningless; because sand, water and cold weather are skaters worst enemy.
